Here you will find a simple step by step guide to using ‘When we were…’ and what you will need to make a stunning Polaroid-style personalised photo gift or piece of personalised wall décor for your home. If you are stuck for present ideas or looking for a truly unique gift, our prints are amazingly special and uniquely personal.

Product Information

We use archival inks and the highest quality heavyweight professional papers ensuring your prints will not fade. All of our frames are handmade from solid wood and are sourced from sustainable resources. The frames are available in 2 depths 23 mm or 33 mm and are available in a smooth white and black finish or a solid natural oak. The prints are hand mounted to conservation mounts (they will not go yellow) and then are set in our beautiful frames which are then finished with acid-free artist’s backing tape. All frames are supplied with fixings and fixing instructions. In the unlikely event you are not happy with the quality of your product we offer a no quibble returns policy on all products.

Getting started

To get started you will need to choose a product, either print only or framed. Then you will need to choose a background colour from the selected colour options.

Main Caption

The Main Caption is at the bottom of the print for example ‘When we were in Mexico’ or ‘When the Bakers were babies’ or something completely different such as ‘Our generations’. The choice is yours, please see the ideas page for some inspiration. If you do not want any text at the bottom of the print then you simply leave the text box blank.

Photo Captions

Simply provide us with text for each photo, this could be for example birth dates; Mum 68, Dad 65, John 89, Sarah 94, or you could simply have just the names of each individual or place. Or alternatively, you can leave this blank.

Photo Upload

You can upload digital files from your camera, phone, tablet or computer. You can scan in any photo prints using your home scanner (portrait or landscape) and then upload them (we will turn them into squares). We can turn colour photos into black and white but unfortunately, we cannot turn black and whites into colour photos. If you do not have access to a scanner we can scan them for you in our studio. If you do decide to take this option please ensure that you send the photos to us using a signed for recorded delivery service. Please note we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage to photos. If you wish to send us photos in the please contact us.
